Advisor to the Ministry of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Sharmin S Murshid said, only awakened youth can change this country, by utilizing the latent talent of today’s young generation of students, they can build a hunger-poverty-free, self-reliant Bangladesh, and change the whole world. Similarly, a youth organization is the Youth Ending Hunger Project. The advisor of this project is Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, a committed figure of the country’s renowned social movement. He is a promising and courageous man. I find many similarities with his thoughts, ideas, and the path he has taken, and he told the young student community, “You have seen why the revolution took place in July 2024.” The previous government led Bangladesh towards misrule for the past 50 years, they established a reign of lies for 15 years, they allowed injustice to destroy the country economically, the country fell into the hands of radical capitalism. Stating that this is not a political philosophy, he said, “The movement of 24 years happened because we allowed injustice, you have done what we could not do. The young generation will not tolerate any injustice in the future either.”
The advisor said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the 18th National Youth Conference 2025 organized by Youth Ending Hunger Bangladesh on January 24-25 at the Gonoshasthaya Kendra Auditorium in Savar, Dhaka.
The program was chaired by Youth Ending Hunger Bangladesh Advisor and Head of the Electoral Reform Commission Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, and Youth Ending Hunger Interior Country Director Researcher Prashant Tripura spoke as the special guest. Among others, Youth Ending Hunger Dhaka region’s Youth Upma Saha, Rangpur region’s Youth Arman Arafat Anik, Chittagong region’s Youth Ayesha Siddika Arabi, Rajshahi region’s Youth Toshir Parvin Nishi and Satkhira region’s Youth Niaz Morshed highlighted their activities in establishing good governance and harmony in their respective regions. The advisor also said, “Poverty must be kept away from our thoughts. By loving the country and giving talent and qualities, you can radically change the country. We will all build the country together,” he expressed his hope.
