Workshop organized at school-college level in preparation for Bangladesh Artificial Intelligence Olympiad 2025

As part of the preparations for Bangladesh Artificial Intelligence Olympiad 2025, a special workshop was organized at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Dhaka on 27 February 2025 to increase interest and skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning among school and college level students. Titled “Road to AI Olympiad”, the workshop discussed various aspects of students’ preparation for the AI Olympiad.
Munir Hasan, President of Bangladesh Open Source Network, was present as the chief guest at the event. Special guests included BM Mainul Hossain, Professor of the Institute of Information Technology, Dhaka University and team leader of the Bangladesh team in the International AI Olympiad, Brother Leo James Perera, Principal of St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, teachers Anthony Prince Costa and Deepak Kumar Sarkar. Also present were Arefin Anwar, a student of St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, who won the silver medal in the International AI Olympiad (IAIO) last year, and Rafid Ahmed, a student of Academia, who won the bronze medal, discussed their experiences and preparation strategies.
In this workshop, a detailed discussion was held on how students should prepare for the Bangladesh Artificial Intelligence Olympiad 2025. This Olympiad is being organized in Bangladesh for students up to class XII for the second time. Through this program, various workshops, seminars and competitions are being organized to create interest in technology and artificial intelligence among the young generation and to develop their skills.
This event is expected to be a milestone in the technology sector in Bangladesh, aiming to create interest in technology and AI among the youth and develop their skills. The workshop was jointly organized by Bangladesh Open Source Network and Josephite Math Club.

বাংলাদেশ আর্টিফিশিয়াল ইন্টেলিজেন্স অলিম্পিয়াড ২০২৫-এর প্রস্তুতির অংশ হিসেবে স্কুল ও কলেজ পর্যায়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা (এআই) এবং মেশিন লার্নিং সম্পর্কে আগ্রহ ও দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে ২৭ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৫ তারিখে ঢাকার সেন্ট জোসেফ হায়ার সেকেন্ডারি স্কুলে একটি বিশেষ কর্মশালার আয়োজন করা হয়। “Road to AI Olympiad” শিরোনামে এই কর্মশালার মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীদের এআই অলিম্পিয়াডের জন্য প্রস্তুতির বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়।
এই আয়োজনে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বাংলাদেশ ওপেন সোর্স নেটওয়ার্কের সভাপতি মুনির হাসান। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তথ্য প্রযুক্তি ইনস্টিটিউটের অধ্যাপক ও আন্তর্জাতিক এআই অলিম্পিয়াডে বাংলাদেশ দলের দলনেতা বি এম মইনুল হোসেন, সেন্ট জোসেফ হায়ার সেকেন্ডারি স্কুলের অধ্যক্ষ ব্রাদার লিও জেমস পেরেরা, শিক্ষক অ্যানথনি প্রিন্স কোস্টা ও দিপক কুমার সরকার। এছাড়াও গতবছর আন্তর্জাতিক এআই অলিম্পিয়াড (IAIO) এর সিলভার মেডেল জয়ী সেন্ট জোসেফ হায়ার সেকেন্ডারি স্কুলের শিক্ষার্থী আরেফিন আনোয়ার এবং ব্রোঞ্জ মেডেল জয়ী একাডেমিয়ার শিক্ষার্থী রাফিদ আহমেদ তাদের অভিজ্ঞতা ও প্রস্তুতির কৌশল নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন।
এই কর্মশালায় শিক্ষার্থীদের বাংলাদেশ আর্টিফিশিয়াল ইন্টেলিজেন্স অলিম্পিয়াড ২০২৫-এর জন্য কীভাবে প্রস্তুতি নেওয়া উচিত, তা নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করা হয়। অনুর্ধ্ব দ্বাদশ শ্রেণী পর্যন্ত শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য এই অলিম্পিয়াড বাংলাদেশে দ্বিতীয় বারের মতো আয়োজিত হতে যাচ্ছে। এই কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে তরুণ প্রজন্মের মাঝে প্রযুক্তি ও কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা সম্পর্কে আগ্রহ সৃষ্টি এবং তাদের দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে বিভিন্ন কর্মশালা, সেমিনার ও প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করা হচ্ছে।
তরুণদের মাঝে প্রযুক্তি ও এআই সম্পর্কে আগ্রহ সৃষ্টি এবং তাদের দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে এই আয়োজন বাংলাদেশের প্রযুক্তি ক্ষেত্রে একটি মাইলফলক হিসেবে বিবেচিত হবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। এই কর্মশালাটি যৌথ ভাবে আয়োজন করেন বাংলাদেশ ওপেন সোর্স নেটওয়ার্ক ও জোসেফাইট ম্যাথ ক্লাব।
