Dhaka, March 19, 2025:
Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, PSC, paid a courtesy call on Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, at the State Guest House Jamuna today.
During the meeting, the Chief of Army Staff briefed the Chief Advisor about the overall security situation in the country and the ongoing activities of the army. Besides, they also discussed various steps taken by the army for the development and stability of the country. During the discussion, the Chief of Army Staff briefed the Chief Advisor about his recent visit to the Central African Republic.
The Chief of Army Staff expressed his hope that this visit will play a helpful role in improving relations and increasing military cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, the Chief of Army Staff informed the Chief Advisor about the evaluation and recommendations of the High-Level Council on ensuring justice to various deprived army officers that had just concluded and the progress of the ongoing High-Level Council on JCOs and other ranks of army personnel dismissed for various reasons. Finally, he was also informed about the various steps taken by the Bangladesh Army in the treatment of students and people injured in the July-August mass uprising.
The Chief Advisor appreciated the role and contribution of the Army and provided necessary guidance to the Army in its future activities. He expressed the hope that the Army will continue to perform its duties with professionalism and dedication to ensure the sovereignty and security of the country.

গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশের অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকারের প্রধান উপদেষ্টা প্রফেসর ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস এর সাথে আজ রাষ্ট্রীয় অতিথি ভবন যমুনায় সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন সেনাবাহিনী প্রধান জেনারেল ওয়াকার-উজ-জামান, এসবিপি, ওএসপি, এসজিপি, পিএসসি।
সাক্ষাৎকালে, সেনাপ্রধান দেশের সামগ্রিক নিরাপত্তা পরিস্থিতি এবং সেনাবাহিনীর চলমান কার্যক্রম সম্পর্কে প্রধান উপদেষ্টা’কে অবহিত করেন। পাশাপাশি, দেশের উন্নয়ন ও স্থিতিশীলতার জন্য সেনাবাহিনী কর্তৃক গৃহীত বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপ নিয়েও আলোচনা করেন।
আলোচনাকালে, সেনাপ্রধান তাঁর সাম্প্রতিক সেন্ট্রাল আফ্রিকান রিপাবলিক সফর এর বিষয়ে মাননীয় প্রধান উপদেষ্টা’কে অবহিত করেন। এই সফরটি দুই দেশের মধ্যকার সম্পর্কোন্নয়ন ও সামরিক সহযোগিতা বৃদ্ধিতে সহায়ক ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে সেনাপ্রধান আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন।
এছাড়াও, সদ্য সমাপ্ত বিবিধ বঞ্চিত সেনা কর্মকর্তাদের সুবিচার নিশ্চিতকরণ সংক্রান্ত উচ্চপদস্থ পর্ষদের মূল্যায়ন ও সুপারিশ এবং বিবিধ কারণে চাকুরীচ্যুত জেসিও ও অন্যান্য পদবীর সেনা সদস্যদের চলমান উচ্চপদস্থ পর্ষদ-এর অগ্রগতির বিষয়ে সেনাপ্রধান মাননীয় প্রধান উপদেষ্টা’কে অবহিত করেন। পরিশেষে, জুলাই-আগস্ট গণঅভ্যুত্থানে আহত ছাত্র-জনতার চিকিৎসায় বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী কর্তৃক গৃহীত বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপ সম্পর্কেও তাঁকে অবহিত করা হয়।
প্রধান উপদেষ্টা সেনাবাহিনীর ভূমিকা ও অবদানের প্রশংসা করেন এবং ভবিষ্যৎ কার্যক্রমে সেনাবাহিনীকে প্রয়োজনীয় দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করেন। তিনি আশা প্রকাশ করেন যে, দেশের সার্বভৌমত্ব ও নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে সেনাবাহিনী তাদের পেশাদারিত্ব ও নিষ্ঠার সঙ্গে দায়িত্ব পালন অব্যাহত রাখবে।
