Dhaka February 15 2025 :
In the Peelkhana massacre, we have lost the sun children of the nation. By losing them, the foundation of Bangladesh’s sovereignty has been hit. The fallen Awami government created a grave for Bangladesh by killing 57 army officers and gave birth to anarchy.
There are allegations that the leaders and activists of the Chhatra League and Jubilee League took part in the Peelkhana massacre by wearing BDR uniforms. Many of the masterminds of the Peelkhana massacre are still at large. The process of bringing them to justice is underway.
The Peelkhana massacre was part of an international conspiracy to keep the Awami League in power in order to establish the occupation of the hegemonic power over Bangladesh. It was not a rebellion, it was a planned murder. Through this, the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh were endangered and the country was put on the verge of collapse. A state extended its hand of friendship and established a reign of plunder in Bangladesh. That state has stood in the face of the people of Bangladesh by harboring a person involved in murder and disappearance in violation of international law.
Such views was delivered by Attorney General of Bangladesh Advocate Md. Asaduzzaman, on Saturday, while speaking as the chief guest at the shadow parliament organized on the BDR murder in the city. The program was presided over by Debate for Democracy Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron.
In his speech as the president, Debate for Democracy Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron said that two months after the Awami League came to power for the second time under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, a scandalous murder took place in Peelkhana, Dhaka, a black mark in the history of the country.

This murder was committed with the aim of inflicting a severe blow on the sovereignty of the country. This murder is not to fulfill any demands, but to weaken the army and to prevent the BDR from having a strong force.
Although there was an opportunity to stop the Peelkhana massacre through the army, an attempt has been made to show people that it is being dealt with politically as part of a conspiracy.
Despite having a patrol team of RAB near the Durbar Hall, they were not allowed to enter Peelkhana to suppress the rebellion. He also said, we are ashamed, sorry for those children who lost their parents and husbands in the hellish massacre of Peelkhana. We have no words to comfort the bereaved family members.
The day this massacre is properly judged, the bereaved family members may get some relief.
Debate for Democracy Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiran raised the following 10-point demands demanding a proper trial for the massacre in Peelkhana – 1) Arrangements should be made to bring the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back to the country for questioning in the interest of investigating the BDR massacre or the investigation team should go to the place where she is staying with the cooperation of the Indian government and conduct necessary questioning.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs should take necessary initiatives in this regard.
2) Uncover the role of the suspects including the then Jubo League leader Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Whip Mirza Azam, Fazle Noor Taposh, Home Minister Sahara Khatun, Awami League leader Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Major General (Retd.) Tarek Siddique.
3) Declare solidarity with the demands of the martyred army family members and declare February 25 as “Martyred Army Day” as a day of mourning.
4) Investigate whether there was a conspiracy by a neighboring country in the BDR killings.
5) Since the then Army Chief Moin U Ahmed, on his own initiative, complained through social media that he did not get permission from the higher authorities of the military to deal with the BDR killings. For the sake of further investigation, the former army chief should be further questioned about the BDR massacre.
6) Identify those who gathered at the BDR headquarters during the Peelkhana massacre and shouted the slogan “BDR Janata Bhai Bhai” to force the army to return to the barracks.
7) Visually display the nameplates of the military/civilian personnel killed and injured in the BDR massacre in front of the BDR headquarters and provide appropriate compensation.
8) Bring back the army officers who lost their jobs in the army barracks for raising questions about the massacre. 8) At the same time, reinstate the BDR members who were not involved in the Peelkhana massacre.
9) Make it a priority of the interim government to uncover the true facts of the Peelkhana massacre and ensure punishment of the real criminals.
10) Include the real history in textbooks to present the correct history of the brutal Peelkhana massacre to the current generation.
