DHAKA, February 8, 2025:
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus calls on all citizens to immediately restore complete law and order and to ensure there will be no further attacks on properties associated with the family of Sheikh Hasina and politicians of the fascist Awami League party or against any citizen on any pretext.
The anger of the activists who have attacked properties is understandable because they and their relatives and friends lived through years of tyranny under Hasina. The Government understands the activists’ sense of outrage that even from her refuge in New Delhi Hasina continues to try to mobilise her militants to hamper Bangladesh’s recovery from her years of abuse.
Despite this understanding, the Government appeals to the citizens to abide by the law to show the world we are a nation that respects of the rule of law. Respecting the rule of law is what differentiates the new Bangladesh we are working together to build from the old Bangladesh under the fascist regime. Let us not undermine Bangladeshis’ sense of security and stability; any disregard for the law endangers the lives and property of citizens.
For the citizens who rose up and overthrew the Hasina regime in July and August to realise their dreams for the country, it is imperative to prove to ourselves and our friends around the world that our commitment to our principles – respecting one another’s civil and human rights and acting under the law – is unshakable. Champions of a just new Bangladesh must never act in ways that could support any perceived equivalence, however unjust, between the behaviour of today’s institutions and those of the ousted autocrats.
Our security forces are aware of this imperative. The Government is working with the country’s security forces to preserve law and order and to protect the lives and property of all Bangladeshis. If any attempt is made to destabilize the country through any kind of provocative activities, law enforcement agencies will immediately take strict action against anyone acting to create chaos and anarchy, which emphatically includes the destruction of property. The government will bring the responsible individuals and groups to justice.
The leaders of the fascist regime have left the country in complete ruins. They have no chance to come back as long as we remain alert and retain the moral high ground. Any attacks to their properties give them an excuse to draw international attention to themselves and dish out their fabricated stories. We are in the process of trying them for their crimes against humanity. The whole world is with us. Any deterioration of law and order will give a wrong message to the world.
The Chief Adviser calls on all citizens materialise our dream of building a country where all Bangladeshis can live in security and dignity to act with self-discipline and to channel their energy into productive, peaceful efforts to support positive changes.
দেশের সকল নাগরিককে নিজ নিজ অবস্থান থেকে দায়িত্বশীল হওয়ার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন প্রধান উপদেষ্টা

অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার গভীর উদ্বেগের সঙ্গে লক্ষ্য করছে যে কতিপয় ব্যক্তি ও গোষ্ঠী সারাদেশে বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান ও স্থাপনায় ভাঙচুর ও অগ্নিসংযোগের চেষ্টা করছে। সরকার এ ধরনের কর্মকাণ্ড শক্তভাবে প্রতিহত করবে।
অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার নাগরিকদের জানমালের নিরাপত্তা রক্ষায় প্রস্তুত। কোনো ধরনের উসকানিমূলক কর্মকাণ্ডের মাধ্যমে দেশকে অস্থিতিশীল করার চেষ্টা করা হলে দায়ী ব্যক্তি ও গোষ্ঠীর বিরুদ্ধে আইন শৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে কঠোর ব্যবস্থা নেবে এবং দোষীদের বিচারের মুখোমুখি দাঁড় করাবে।
অবিলম্বে দেশের সার্বিক আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক রাখতে দেশের সকল নাগরিককে নিজ নিজ অবস্থান থেকে দায়িত্বশীল হওয়ার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন প্রধান উপদেষ্টা প্রফেসর মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস।
শেখ হাসিনার পরিবারের সম্পত্তি ধ্বংস থেকে বিরত থাকা এবং ফ্যাসিবাদী আওয়ামী লীগের রাজনীতির সঙ্গে যুক্ত ব্যক্তি হওয়ায় কিংবা অন্য কোনো অজুহাতে দেশের কোনো নাগরিকের ওপর আক্রমণ না করার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন তিনি।
প্রফেসর ইউনূস বলেন, শেখ হাসিনা বছরের পর বছর জনগণের ওপর অত্যাচার ও নিপীড়ন করে ক্ষমতা কুক্ষিগত করে রেখেছিলেন, সংগত কারণেই এটি বোধগম্য যে, বিক্ষোভকারী ও তাদের আত্মীয়-স্বজনরা বছরের পর বছর ধরে শেখ হাসিনার নিপীড়নের শিকার হয়েছেন, ফলে তাদের মনে ক্ষোভ রয়েছে।
গণঅভ্যুত্থানে ক্ষমতাচ্যুত শেখ হাসিনা নয়াদিল্লিতে আশ্রয় নিয়েও তার দলীয় সন্ত্রাসীদের একত্রিত করার চেষ্টা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে, দেশের পরিস্থিতিকে অস্থিতিশীল করতে চাইছে। বছরের পর বছর বাংলাদেশে নিপীড়নের শাসন কায়েম করা শেখ হাসিনা এখনো বাংলাদেশের পুনঃনির্মাণকে ক্রমাগত বাধাগ্রস্ত করতে চাইছে।
এর ফলে দেশের মানুষের মনে যে ক্ষোভের সঞ্চার হয়েছে সেটি বোধগম্য জানিয়ে প্রধান উপদেষ্টা বলেন, “তা সত্ত্বেও সরকার দেশের সকল নাগরিককে আইন মেনে চলার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে। এতে করে আমরা নিজেদেরকে আইনের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল একটি জাতি হিসেবে বিশ্বের কাছে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করতে পারব। ফ্যাসিবাদী শাসনের অধীনে পুরোনো বাংলাদেশ থেকে আমরা যে নতুন বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তুলতে একসাথে কাজ করছি আইন মেনে চলার মধ্য দিয়েই সেটি আলাদা হবে।”
“আসুন, আমরা বাংলাদেশিদের নিরাপত্তা এবং স্থিতিশীলতার অনুভূতি ক্ষুণ্ন না করি; আইনের প্রতি যেকোনো অবজ্ঞা নাগরিকদের জীবন ও সম্পত্তির জন্য হুমকিস্বরূপ,” বলেন প্রফেসর ইউনূস।
গত জুলাই ও আগস্টে শেখ হাসিনার শাসনকে উৎখাত করে দেশের স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়নের জন্য যে সকল নাগরিক জেগে উঠেছিলেন তাদের প্রতি আহ্বান জানাই, “আমাদের নিজেদের এবং বিশ্বজুড়ে আমাদের বন্ধুদের কাছে প্রমাণ করা অপরিহার্য যে আমরা একে অপরের নাগরিক ও মানবাধিকারকে সম্মান করব এবং আইন মেনে চলব। এই নীতির প্রতি আমাদের অঙ্গীকার অটল।
তিনি বলেন, “রক্তক্ষয়ী আন্দোলনের মাধ্যমে অর্জিত নতুন বাংলাদেশের বিজয়ীদের নিশ্চয়ই এমন কিছু করা উচিত হবে না যা দেশের বর্তমান গণতান্ত্রিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোকে প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ করে এবং স্বৈরাচারী হাসিনার আমলের সঙ্গে তুলনা করার সুযোগ সৃষ্টি হয়।”
তিনি বলেন, আমাদের নিরাপত্তা বাহিনী এই গুরুতর পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কে সচেতন। আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি এবং সকল বাংলাদেশির জীবন ও সম্পত্তি রক্ষার জন্য সরকার দেশের নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর সাথে কাজ করছে। সম্পত্তি ধ্বংস, ব্যক্তির ওপর আক্রমণ কিংবা কোনো ধরনের উসকানিমূলক কার্যকলাপের মধ্য দিয়ে দেশকে অস্থিতিশীল করার চেষ্টা করা হলে আইন প্রয়োগকারী সংস্থা অবিলম্বে বিশৃঙ্খলা ও নৈরাজ্য সৃষ্টিকারী যে কারও বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর ব্যবস্থা নেবে। এ ধরনের কর্মকাণ্ডে দায়ী ব্যক্তি ও গোষ্ঠীকে সরকার বিচারের আওতায় আনবে।
“ফ্যাসিবাদী শাসনের নেতারা দেশকে সম্পূর্ণ ধ্বংসস্তূপে ফেলে গেছে। যতক্ষণ আমরা সতর্ক থাকব এবং নিজেদের নীতি-নৈতিকতা বজায় রাখব, ততক্ষণ তাদের ফিরে আসার আর কোনো সুযোগ নেই। তাদের সম্পত্তিতে যেকোনো আক্রমণকে তারা আন্তর্জাতিক দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করার এবং তাদের বানোয়াট গল্প প্রচার করার সুযোগ হিসেবে নেবে,” বলেন প্রধান উপদেষ্টা।
মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের জন্য স্বৈরাচার শেখ হাসিনা ও তার সহযোগীদের বিচার প্রক্রিয়াধীন জানিয়ে তিনি বলেন, “সমগ্র বিশ্ব আমাদের সঙ্গে আছে। এই মুহূর্তে আইনশৃঙ্খলার যেকোনো অবনতি বিশ্বকে ভুল বার্তা দিবে।”
প্রধান উপদেষ্টা সকল নাগরিককে এমন একটি দেশ গঠনের স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়নের আহ্বান জানান যেখানে সকল বাংলাদেশি নিরাপত্তা ও মর্যাদার সঙ্গে বসবাস করতে পারবেন, আত্ম-নিয়ন্ত্রণের সঙ্গে কাজ করতে পারবেন এবং নিজেদের শক্তি সৃজনশীল, শান্তিপূর্ণ কাজে ব্যবহার করে দেশে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তন আনতে পারবেন।
